Terms and conditions

Tithi Calendar is a free panchang calendar in Gujarati, Hindi and English. It computes tithi, nakshatra, festival dates, muhurat windows and the other panchang elements on your device, for the place you choose. There is no account, and nothing to buy inside the app.

We may change, add or remove features, and we update the calendar data the app downloads so that dates stay correct. We work to keep the app available and working, but we cannot promise that every feature will always be there.

The dates and timings are calculated astronomically for the place set in the app. Panchangs differ: by sunrise where you are, by whether a month is counted amanta or purnimanta, and by the tradition a family or a temple follows. A date in the app can therefore differ from the panchang you keep.

• Use the app as a guide. For a fast, a ceremony, a muhurat or any decision that matters to you, confirm the date and time with your own panchang, your priest or your community.
• The app gives no astrological predictions, horoscopes or advice, and nothing in it is a promise about any outcome.
• If a date looks wrong, tell us from Settings, Report a correction. Corrections are how the data gets better for everyone.

What you add to the app stays on your device, as the privacy policy explains, and it is yours. So is keeping a copy of it: uninstalling the app or losing the phone removes it, and we cannot recover it for you. Settings, Export events makes a copy you can keep or move to another phone.

When you send a correction or feedback, you allow us to use what you sent to check and improve the app and its data, including publishing a corrected date. Please do not include anyone else's personal information. How we handle what you send is set out in the privacy policy.

You may use the app and this website for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please do not:

• copy, extract or republish the calendar data, the festival texts or the artwork in bulk, or use them in another product or service;
• try to decrypt, reverse engineer or tamper with the app or the data it downloads, except where the law allows it regardless of this term;
• interfere with, overload or try to gain access to our servers or to any part of this website that is not public;
• use the correction or feedback forms to send spam, abuse or anything unlawful.

The app, its design, its festival artwork and texts, and the calendar data it downloads belong to ACKPlus or are used with permission. Some festival stories retell texts that are in the public domain, and the typefaces are used under their open licences. These terms do not give you ownership of any of it, only permission to use the app as described here.

The app is distributed through Google Play and the App Store, uses Google Firebase for crash reports and usage statistics, and asks your phone's own geocoding service for place names. Those services have their own terms, which apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for services we do not run.

The app and this website are provided free of charge and as they are. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that they will be free of errors or interruptions, suitable for a particular purpose, or correct for every tradition and every place.

To the extent the law allows, ACKPlus is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss that comes from relying on a date, a timing or a text in the app - including a missed or mistimed observance, event or reminder. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited.

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If we stop offering the app, or stop sending it calendar updates, we will say so on this website.

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
